Bar codes are supplied same day in most cases once we have the details to process your order.

What size barcode should I order?

You should order your bar code image at the largest size that will fit into your artwork design. Most commonly used sizes are 80% & 100%. 80% is suitable for printing on printed labels where as 100% is more suited for plastic or plain cardboard.

What format is the best way to receive my bar code image?

A EPS File is a great way to receive a digital barcode providing you have a desktop publishing program like Illustrator, Photoshop and Corel Draw. Other formats Like PDF, JPG and WMF Format are also available.

Which colours should I use to print my barcode in?

Using the right colors and printing the bar code with sufficient contrast can avoid scanning problems. To assist you in printing your bar codes correctly we have developed a bar code color guideline chart to ensure you choose the right colors for printing your bar codes safely.

Can i reduce or enlarge the barcode once it has been ordered?

Barcodes can be ordered in several different sizes. The white and black spaces represent the barcode numbers. If you decide to reduce or enlarge the bar code image it may cause problems scanning the bar code once it is printed. A better option is to provide the size reserved for the bar code and have it custom made to fit that area.

I have purchased a bar code using the Buy A Barcode service what now?

Your first step is providing basic details to Barcode Solutions to ensure a quick processing of your order. Ideally if we know the size of barcode required, what is being printed on to, which program you would like to use the barcode in and which computer you would like to receive the attachments in PC or Mac then your order can be processed promptly.

Where can I use my Buy a Barcode number?

All Buy a Barcode numbers can be used without restriction to all retail stores excluding only GS1 Member stores. The GS1 member stores are generally major supermarkets (grocery stores) these stores have a separate enforced barcode membership barcode numbering system provided by GS1 directly. Please check with your point of sale retailers if you are unsure.
